Hawkins Peugeot Fest 2019!
On Sunday over 300 Hawkins customers, Peugeot enthusiasts and members of the public enjoyed some late summer sun and a party atmosphere at the first Hawkins Peugeot Fest at St Stephens. Those who attended the free event helped raise £700 for the Lymphoma Action Charity through a raffle and the sale of cream teas. There were over 50 classic, modified and performance Peugeot cars and vans on display as well as memorabilia, model Peugeot collection and even a Peugeot racing bicycle!
The idea behind the event was to display in public some of the Hawkins Classic Car Collection that has been built up over the past 20 years and allow local owners and enthusiasts to display their Peugeots as well.
Commenting on the success of the day Johnny Hawkins Dealer Principal said “We were all absolutely blown away with the number of people who attended as it far exceeded our expectations! What really surprised us was the passion for the Peugeot brand and that many of the enthusiasts had spent hundreds and even thousands of hours on their vehicles.
We displayed 20 cars from our collection with the most popular being a White 205 1.9 GTi that is also my personal favourite! The collection has kept growing as a combination of cars that have been part exchanged that we’ve kept hold of and those that we have either been approached to buy or have actively sought out.
I’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of those who came along, exhibited cars and gave up their time to make the event a massive success and to help such a worthy charity. We have already started planning next year’s event, it’s going to be even bigger and will include Citroen. We have more cars from our collection scheduled for restoration that will be making an appearance including our famous 205 Rally Car!”.
